@?TECH.SPECS - THE CYBORG CEntury
"The Cyborg Century" is a critical and creative examination of how digital technology influences identity, perception, and social experiences in contemporary life. Through a blend of philosophical reflection and personal narrative, this work investigates the increasingly blurred lines between the digital and physical worlds, as well as between the public and private spheres, and between human and machine.
Drawing on the insights of thinkers like Donna Haraway and Martin Heidegger, it explores how digital devices—particularly smartphones and voice assistants—affect not only communication but also our sense of self and agency. The text addresses the paradoxes of hyper-connectivity: while digital tools can provide a sense of autonomy, they can also reinforce dependency, and the design of user interfaces often hides the complexities of the systems we depend on.
Through a combination of interviews, essays, and aesthetic inquiry, "The Cyborg Century" advocates for a reprogramming of our digital lives. It encourages critical awareness, playful hacking, and aesthetic reflection as means to reclaim personal autonomy and navigate the algorithmic structures that shape our everyday existence.
